Sharakpur's areas of expertise are: development
economics, regional development policy, public sector reform, diligence and

the firm has concentrated its efforts on
contending with the threats posed by
money-laundering as well as combating the financing
of terrorism.
The Panel of Advisors together with Principals of the firm and
its associates have extensive government and private sector
involvement in their respective fields of compliance
with procedures and standards. Additionally,
the firm has established institutional relationships
with law firms and consulting groups worldwide:
current affiliations are based in Mexico City,
Geneva, and Tokyo.
The clientele has ranged from government agencies and central banks in
developing countries to large commercial houses in
the US and overseas. Further client
relationship is being developed with bilateral
development agencies and international financial
institutions.

Sharakpur, Ltd. is an SBA 8(a) certified and
disadvantaged small business. Section 8(a) of
the Small Business Act permits a small
business which is unconditionally owned and
controlled by one or more socially- and
economically-disadvantaged individuals who are of
good character, citizens of the United States, and
which demonstrates potential for success to obtain
government contracts without competition or through
competition to 8(a) firms.
Contracts under US$ 3,000,000
may be a set aside for a single 8(a) firm.
[Contracts over US$ 3,000.000 must be awarded on the
basis of competition among eligible 8(a) firms and
SBA have a Partnership Agreement which establishes
basic procedures for expediting the award of
requirements pursuant to section 8(a) of the Small
Business act.] A procuring activity
contracting officer indicates his or her formal
intent of a procurement requirement as an 8(a)
contract by submitting a written offering to
