Principals
Sulaiman S. Wasty. Formerly, Special Assistant to Pakistan' s Minister for Finance, Planning and Development; Consultant to World Bank, and member of panel of experts of UNDP and FAO; and simultaneously Visiting Professor at the Johns Hopkins and Princeton Universities. His experience includes evaluation of development effectiveness of external assistance policies of the international financial institutions in a variety of countries and regions (Mexico, the Caribbean, Turkey, countries of the former Soviet Union, the Middle East, and South Asia). His most recent position was that of Managing Director and acting CEO of G. William Miller Financial Integrity Services,
LLC. Mr. Wasty holds a B.A. from Punjab University in Pakistan; a B.Sc. in International Relations from London School of Economics; an M.A.in International Economics from Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies; and a Ph.D. in Economic Development Planning from Cornell University.
James A. Hanson. Has worked on
macroeconomic, debt, and financial policy issues at the
World Bank for over 25 years in Latin America
and East Asia and South Asia--with over 100 publications
as journal articles and contributions to various books.
He also served as World Bank's lead economist in India
and Indonesia. Previously, he was an
associate professor of Finance at Brown University.
Most recently at the World Bank, he has been a Senior
Financial Policy Advisor and has conducted numerous
financial sector assessments and quality assurance
reports--including those on India, Peru, Uruguay, Egypt,
Turkey, and Brazil. Mr. Hanson holds a B.A., an
M.A, and a Ph.D. in Economics from Yale University.
M.G. Sri Ram Aiyer. Possesses extensive
experience in economic development and emerging market
economies during a career of over 31 years at the World
Bank--holding several director-level positions in the
Country and Technical departments covering East Asia and
Latin America. Lately, his consulting
assignments have included advising the governments of
OECS countries, Afghanistan, China, and several others
in the Caucuses and Africa on reforming corporate
governance. He is fluent in Spanish, French, and
Russian. Mr. Aiyer attained Masters degrees from
Manchester University (Production Technology and
Management) and George Washington University
(Economics), and holds a Ph.D. from Cornell University.
He was also a participant in the Senior Executive
Development Program at the Harvard Business School.
W. Dennis Grubb. A development
professional with more than 18 years international
experience as head of Investasia, Ltd. providing
consulting and management services to capital markets'
regulatory agencies and market intermediaries (including
issuers and investor and stock exchanges). Mr.
Grubb has also demonstrated a results-oriented approach
to assistance with major donor-financed economic growth
projects. He holds an M.A. in Economics and Latin
American Studies from the American University.
Vinod Busjeet. A leading expert in
private sector investment and development with an
experience spanning 30 years--first at the World Bank
and subsequently with its affiliate, International
Finance Corporation (IFC), where as Manager of
Middle East and North Africa Division, he
developed and managed an investment program of US$100
million annually. Mr. Busjeet extensively developed the institutions'
relationships with governments, privatization agencies,
chambers of commerce, investment promotion agencies, and
NGOs--in all parts of the world. His most recent
assignment at IFC was Special Advisor, Global Manufacturing and
Services Department. He has also been Economic and
Trade Advisor to the Government of Mauritius for three
years. Mr. Busjeet received his B.A.
from Wesleyan University, M.B.A. from New York
University, and Doctorate in Business Administration
from Harvard University.
Ellen Rosskam. Specialist in global
development, social protection, and public policy--with
27 years of experience in implementing/managing
large-scale socioeconomic development projects in over
40 developing/transitional economies. Her focus
areas include, but are not limited to: social
protection, public health (HIV/AIDS and the workplace),
gender, labor market issues, sustainable development ,
organizational change, and institutional capacity
building. She has authored numerous
scientific publications. Both an American and
Swiss national, Ms. Rosskam attained an MPH from the
University of California, Los Angeles, and holds a Ph.D.
in Economic Sciences and Management from the University
of Lausanne.
F. Desmond McCarthy. An experienced
macroeconomist and evaluator of development
effectiveness of analytical and advisory activities.
Has served as economic advisor to several Chief
Economists of the World Bank, and is the author of
numerous publications especially on development policy
assistance and public expenditures in low-income
countries under stress (LICUS). Mr. McCarthy
obtained his B.E. from University College Cork
(Ireland), M.Sc. in Economics from M.I.T., and Ph.D.
in Engineering from New York University.
Hilarian M.A. Codippily. Experienced with
applied economic management as a former Senior Economist
with the World Bank with project work in over 20
countries in Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean,
East Asia and the Pacific, and Europe and Central Asia.
Mr. Codippily possesses an M.A. and Ph.D. in Economics
from Warwick University.
Emily S. Andrews. At the World Bank and
as an independent consultant, Ms. Andrews has worked for
over a decade in on economic development--specifically,
on pensions, poverty assessments, labor markets studies,
and disability programs in Europe and Central Asia.
Recently, as senior staff at the Millennium Challenge
Corporation (MCC), she managed and designed monitoring,
evaluation, and economic analyses for MCC Compacts in
Eurasia, and North and Sub-Saharan Africa. Her
domestic experience includes work on social insurance
for the U.S. Government. Ms. Andrews has published
widely; and attained her A.B. in Mathematics from
Barnard College, and a Ph.D. in Economics from the
University of Pennsylvania.
Bruce Zagaris. Mr. Zagaris was a member
of the Law faculty at the University of West Indies, and
has worked on financial regulatory and enforcement
issues with the Government of Barbados.. In
addition, he has worked with a number of other CARICOM
governments--focusing on international tax enforcement,
AML due diligence, anti-corruption, financial fraud, and
cyber/white collar crimes. Mr. Zagaris holds an
LL.M degree from Stockholm and a J.D. from George
Washington University.
Donald M. Manson. Throughout his academic
training and professional career, Mr. Manson has applied
information technology to economic and financial data to
create business and analytical systems. He
successfully joins content with information technology
in products that enhance the value of complex data.
As a creative and accomplished programmer, he has
experience ranging from machine-based assembler through
object-oriented languages. In the early 1980s and
under the auspices of international donor organizations,
he developed PC-based tools for overseas in-country
policy analysis; and subsequently led various
international missions that applied these tools for the
purpose of making policy recommendations to senior
government officials in host countries. Mr. Manson
has a B.S. in Engineering, an M.B.A., and a Ph.D. from
Cornell.
Asim Malik. Experienced with research institutions in the United States in International Business and Information Systems. His core competencies include: project development, technology transfer, financial and budget management, client relations, quality assurance, and staff training and development. Mr. Malik graduated in Business Administration--specializing in information systems and international business--from the George Washington University.
Yermal T. Shetty. Has
worked for the World Bank for over 25 years as a Senior
Financial Analyst/Economist acquiring extensive
experience in more than 20 countries in energy and
industrial sectors with emphasis on: project appraisal
and development, corporate financial management, public
enterprise reform, and institution building and capacity
development. He was also assigned to the USAID
Mission in New Delhi for project evaluation and impact
studies. Mr. Shetty holds B.A. and M.A. degrees in
Economics and Finance from Madras University, and
conducted postgraduate work at Princeton.
Mohsin
Alikhan. Possesses over 28 years of
managerial, technical, and quality assurance experience
in sectors covering: infrastructure, rural development,
environment, governance, finance, private sector
development, and technical assistance gained at the
World Bank headquarters and various field offices
including Nigeria, Bangladesh, and Saudi Arabia.
Accomplished in project management and financial
management.
Mr. Alikhan obtained his B.S. from .McGill University and has a professional C.P.A. designation.
Zafar U. Ahmed. Based in
Islamabad, Mr. Ahmed has
extensive experience in socioeconomic development
through affiliation with various development partners'
initiatives (DFID, ILO, EU, Oxfam, UNDP),
NGOs, and the Public Sector. Also worked on: (a)
community-based development; (b) sectoral and program
planning; (c) monitoring and evaluation; and (d)
organizational development and management. Mr.
Ahmed holds a Master of Management degree from the
Atkinson School of Management (Willamette University)
and obtained Master of Professional Studies in
International Development Planning from Cornell.
Hailey M. Cook. Ms. Cook
started her career with several social and political
non-profit organizations after receiving in 2007 her
B.A. in Political Science and International Relations
from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington
(with a year abroad at Bogazici University in Istanbul).
Most recently, she worked as a researcher and project
assistant for the Turkey and Caspian Energy Project at
the Center for Strategic and International Studies
(CSIS).
